A Letter from the CEO-President

Each year, the Los Angeles Jewish Home grows stronger in its ability to
deliver healthcare and other services to seniors throughout our community.
The support of many hands makes it possible – residents, donors, volunteers,
and staff, coming together to realize a remarkable vision of comprehensive
senior care.
In 2013-14, we were thrilled to move forward with Connections to Care,
an innovative approach to meeting seniors’ diverse needs. By linking seniors
and their loved ones to a full continuum of in-your-home, community-
based, and residential programs with one easy, toll-free phone call, we are
pioneering a new approach to caregiving. Our focus is asking how we can
help – and our commitment is providing high quality, easy-to-access care
that makes a tangible difference in seniors’ lives. Importantly, Connections
to Care also enables us to serve as a resource for callers from outside our
service area, offering advice and assistance to help address their individual
situations.
At the Jewish Home, our emphasis is on “outreach” – building relationships across Los Angeles
to weave a web of compassion and competence that nurtures seniors’ wellness and fosters their
independence. Growing older is both a challenge and a privilege, and we are dedicated to partnering
across the community to empower our elders, helping them face and overcome obstacles and enjoy
life’s everyday pleasures.
Along the way, we continue to blossom: expanding our capacity to serve; exceeding our standard
of excellence; and growing our footprint to encompass the full sweep of senior need in Southern
California. This year, I am pleased to report we have accomplished each of these goals – and I am
honored by the trust and investment that have allowed us to make extraordinary progress together.
