Dear Friend of the Jewish Home,
As we begin November, we look forward to Thanksgiving and remembering the many gifts for which we are grateful. At the Jewish Home, our gratitude extends to our wonderful supporters whose generosity make possible the remarkable programs and services we offer.
With our partnership, we are able to offer Los Angeles seniors the critical programs that help nurture health and provide needed care and services in the community. As November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, this newsletter raises awareness about the disease and invites readers to access the Jewish Home's renowned expertise and help in this area. Our award-winning Skirball Hospice is another valued service, and during National Hospice and Palliative Care Month,
Jewish Home e-Connections showcases this vital service and the benefits it gives to vulnerable individuals and families across Southern California. Another newsletter article introduces our new
Siddurim, or prayer books, used at the Home. Last, we profile one of our residents, a former Marine, whose story highlights the sense of happiness and fulfillment that people so often find here.
Seniors also find the Jewish Home has skilled, experienced, compassionate staff members committed to providing the very best in senior care. In caring for others, our staff members develop deep and lasting relationships with seniors and their families who partner in caring with us. Cooperating together with those we serve, seniors find added life and light in their golden years. This is why the Home serves as a national model for impactful senior care — and why seniors increasingly turn to us to meet their complex healthcare needs.
Today the fastest growing demographic in America is the "super-elderly" or those over 85! As individuals enjoy longer lives, they also often find they must meet the challenges of aging well. As our partner, you understand the needs of seniors for help in their later years. With your support, we can serve ever-larger numbers of seniors who use the extensive umbrella of programs and services we provide. With your generous aid the Home will continue to meet senior needs in our community.
I believe you will enjoy this edition of Jewish Home e-Connections. The stories it contains will deepen your understanding of how invaluable your partnership with us truly is. As Thanksgiving approaches, I am thankful to have you as part of our Home. With best wishes for a wonderful holiday,
Always,
Molly Forrest
