Dear Friend of the Jewish Home,
For many of us, August is the quintessential summer month: reconnecting with
family and friends during well-deserved vacations or long, lazy dinners under
the stars. Cherished moments with special people in our lives become snapshots
that live on in our memories through the rest of the year and beyond.
For members of our Jewish Home community, cherished moments and special people
are abundant. While we are experts in providing quality, compassionate care, we
are equally well versed in the importance of nurturing connections.
Fostering meaningful bonds and relationships that help keep our seniors healthy,
happy, and strong is our goal.
This month's issue of Jewish Home e-Connections takes a look at
friendships, showcasing an important part of what makes the Jewish Home such a
major draw for seniors across Los Angeles. From our Connections to Care program
we know seniors and those who care about them choose the Home for principally
two reasons — 1. a desire for new friendships and social activities and 2.
assistance with needs.
Jewish Home e-Connections also features a story on our palliative
medicine service and a report from the Annenberg School of Nursing's most recent
graduation. In addition, you will find a story about how the generosity of one
of our donors, Maxine Dunitz, is encouraging our residents to explore the
digital world and expand their minds.
We bring you this newsletter every month to keep you abreast of happenings here
at the Home — and a way to say "thank you" for your interest in the Home, and
our programs, and your partnership in assuring we continue to serve seniors.
Your support and dedication sustains almost 6000 seniors in our community and
inspires us to continue to explore new ways to help them on our campuses or in
their own homes.
With gratitude for your friendship, generosity and help,
Molly Forrest
CEO-President
