Dear Friend of the Jewish Home,
The arrival of summer is always cause for celebration at the Jewish Home. We delight in helping our seniors make the most of the glorious Southern California weather — getting mobile and accessing our region's abundant cultural and natural resources.
Of course, the heat also makes it imperative that seniors take special precautions to protect themselves — staying cool and seeking shelter from the summer sun. In this month's issue of
Jewish Home e-Connections, we feature an article on summer safety, offering tips for seniors and their caregivers on staying healthy in temperatures that can often reach triple digits. You will also find a piece on our Annenberg School of Nursing Open House events for prospective vocational nursing students, a story about the success of our short-term rehabilitation services, and a look at the Home's award-winning residential care.
Those residential programs and services have long been the life's blood of the Jewish Home, enabling us to foster the well-being of so many of our community's seniors. From the moment they arrive, our residents find a welcoming new home, one that nurtures good health, builds strong relationships, and promotes physical and intellectual stimulation.
It is the Jewish Home's incredible team of staff and volunteers that makes this possible. I am particularly gratified to share with you that we have just concluded a wonderful Staff Appreciation Week. Their tireless efforts on behalf of the men and women in residence at the Home and across Los Angeles who rely on us makes a critical difference in literally thousands of lives.
You are also part of making that difference, and I thank you for your ongoing collaboration and support. Through your gifts of time and resources, you honor our elders and ensure their days are filled with quality care and love.
All my best,
Molly Forrest
CEO-President
