Dear Friend of the Jewish Home,
Spring has sprung across Los Angeles. New growth and gorgeous days are par
for the course in Southern California — a place where the sun is constantly
shining and renewal is always possible.
At the Jewish Home, we embrace
this idea of perpetual renewal and rediscovery, especially as we prepare to
celebrate Passover. Just as our ancestors banded together to seek a better life
beyond Egypt's borders, so too do the seniors we serve join hands to find
strength in the power of community. They rely on each other for friendship,
inspiration, and camaraderie, and they depend upon us for the cutting-edge
programs and services that keep them healthy, vibrant, and open to life's
possibilities. Those services include our renowned Skirball Hospice as
well as our offerings in geriatric care. Both are essential components of
Connections to Care (C2C), the Jewish Home's innovative approach to ensuring
seniors' well-being with a simple phone call connecting them to the resource
that fits their need. In this issue of Jewish Home Connections, you will find a
story about some of the volunteers who make Skirball Hospice so special. You
will also find an example of the success of our Annenberg School of Nursing's
Vocational Nursing Program and an article about the Passover holiday.
Recently, we hosted an employee interfaith service at the Jewish Home, which
provided our employees a chance to strengthen each other as we renewed our sense
of purpose and joy in the important work we do every day. You are a crucial
partner in that work, and I speak on behalf of everyone at the Home in extending
my sincerest thanks.
Wishing you a wonderful Passover,
Molly Forrest
CEO-President
