A Dog That Brings the Divine

For National Volunteer Month, we bring you a story of one of many dedicated Jewish Home volunteers. Residents at the Home positively light up when Barbara Willahan and her black Labrador mix, Jack, arrive for a visit every Tuesday. One by one, the dog gently, and lovingly, rests his head in their laps, offering a measure of warmth and compassion that brightens their entire week.

ASN Graduation

Congratulations to the 2019 Vocational Nurse class which graduated from the Annenberg School of Nursing (ASN)! A moving ceremony, attended by friends and family members of the graduates, was held at the Eisenberg Village Campus of the Jewish Home. Amandeep Kaur, director of ASN, advised the students, "Donâ€™t lose the passion you have had for the last 13 months." Sheldon Steier, chair of the ASN Board of Directors, said, "We salute your extraordinary efforts. We know the sacrifice you and your families have made to reach this goal and we share in the joy of your new profession."
