Dear Friend of the Jewish Home, This fall has kept us running at the
Jewish Home — literally! Last month, we held our 16th annual Walk of Ages, a 10K
run and 5K walk/run that raises critical funds to support Jewish Home programs
and services. I am pleased to report the Walk was a huge success, drawing people
of all ages to participate in this feel-good event. The brisk pace continued
with our lovely gala, "Celebration of Life: Reflections 2015," held at
the Beverly Hilton Hotel. It was a wonderful evening, and I felt honored and
humbled to be recognized for my ongoing work on the Home's behalf. With
the recent celebration of Thanksgiving and the impending arrival of the winter
holidays, we have much to be grateful for, including the warm and loving support
of family and friends. That support is particularly important at this time of
year for seniors, who may be vulnerable to financial scams and other forms of
elder abuse that often spike during these festive weeks. As always, the Home
seeks to raise awareness about these concerns to ensure the continued health and
wellbeing of seniors across our community. As we start the final
countdown to 2016, it is a terrific time to go online and visit our new website,
which we frequently update with exciting volunteer opportunities and profiles of
the men and women we serve. I encourage you to explore these and other features
and to learn more about the ways we are helping seniors live happy and
fulfilling lives. Please enjoy the following articles. I look forward to
being in touch in the New Year. With best wishes,
Molly Forrest
